About The project
Youth Uniting Minds: Embracing Diversity through Meals is an Erasmus+ KA152-YOU Youth Exchange project that brings together young people from different cultural, social, and geographical backgrounds. The project uses food, cooking, and shared meals as powerful non-formal education tools to promote intercultural dialogue, inclusion, and sustainable practices.
Through a combination of a preparatory visit and an international youth exchange, participants engage in hands-on activities that connect cultural heritage, social responsibility, and environmental awareness. The project particularly prioritizes the involvement of young people with fewer opportunities, ensuring inclusive participation and equal access to learning experiences.
By using cooking and shared meals as a central learning tool, the project creates a safe and engaging space where participants exchange cultural traditions, challenge stereotypes, and build empathy. At the same time, the project raises awareness about sustainable food practices and food waste reduction, empowering young people—especially those with fewer opportunities—to develop leadership skills, collaborate in multicultural teams, and become active agents of positive social and environmental change in their communities.
Objectives
Promoting Intercultural Understanding: To foster empathy, tolerance, and mutual respect among young people by encouraging the
exchange of cultural traditions through cooking, storytelling, and shared culinary experiences.
Developing Leadership and Teamwork Skills: To empower participants to take active roles in planning, decision-making, and implementation of activities, strengthening their leadership, cooperation, and communication skills in multicultural teams.
Creating Tangible and Digital Project Outputs: To produce concrete results such as a multicultural cookbook, social media reel videos from each participating country, and a final compilation video that documents the learning process and project impact.
